Automatic Transmission Oil Coolers
Automatic Transmissions should be serviced every 40,000 km. Regular oil changes ensures that good quality oil is available to the box, lower temperatures maintained and the right speed selection changes.
When a second oil cooler is added to the system the automatic transmission temperature drops by 30% allowing far better and more accurate gear changes.
A second oil cooler from Davis Performance Landys will ensure that the vehicle will operate at its best, especially under extreme conditions such as towing.

Both good oil and a lower transmission temperature are essential for towing.

Davis Performance Landys Differential Lock.
With the introduction of the ABS system by Land Rover, the centre difflock was disengaged by Rover relying on the ABS to get the vehicle out of any situation. Under certain condition the ABS system alone failed to get the vehicle out of trouble including steep well used sand dunes, slippery rocky river crossings etc.
In the Discovery 2 (from 1999 - 2001) all the internals of the centre diff lock remained except for the lever. Davis Performance Landys has developed a system that allows the centre diff lock to be engaged.

The Discovery II 2002 had no centre diff lock gears so Davis Performance Landys developed and supplied a full kit to allow centre diff locking.
By adding a DPL differential lock system activated in low range you have a vehicle that has the best of both worlds in ABS and Differential lock control.

Discoveries built in 2003 and 2004 has a factory fitted differential lock, as has all models out today.

Intercooler - large capacity upgrade. (Sample image only.)
The intercooler installed in your Discovery would be more than adequate in Europe but Australian conditions, particularly the heat, limit the potential of your vehicle.
This larger capacity intercooler fits neatly into the convenient space left by the manufacturer to allow upgrades.
Tech Fact: Turbo engines use air forced into the combustion chamber to be mixed with fuel. Air expands when it is hot, therefore if the air is cooled more can be forced into the chamber. This increases the efficiency of the engine using the fuel more economically giving better power, performance and consumption.

From 2½" to 3" exhaust systems
The exhaust outlet manifold is 3" which is reduced to 2½" to the exhaust pipe and muffler.
By continuing the 3" system right through and adding a large capacity muffler the engine clears the exhaust fumes faster and runs much cooler. The engine runs more efficiently and increases the horsepower. (Software or ECU upgrades are recommended.)
We have full stainless systems available. Do it once and do it properly.
Note; Combine this exhaust system upgrade with a larger capacity intercooler and the engine runs even more efficiently.

Water Trap
Since the introduction of the Common Rail Diesel engines there has been a large increase in fuel issues with Land Rover vehicles. The main issue is the intake of water into the injection system. If you do get contaminated fuel, any water in the system could result in a complete replacement of the pump and injectors. Should this occur your warranty would not be recognized until you replace the pump and injectors. This could cost up to $15,000. The installation of the water watch trap assembly from Davis Performance Landys will enhance the original filtration system by collecting the water and give you an audible alarm should water be detected in the fuel. The Water Watch trap assembly will assist in detecting water that has made its way into the vehicles fuel . It will also detect very small amounts of free water, bringing on a LED warning light and audible warning.
Water Watch detects water prior to it entering the fuel system and can also be optioned with the added protection of shut down or back to base warning capability."
"Water Watch" does not replace your vehicles genuine filter assembly, and is fitted prior to the original unit to assist in warning of water entering the vehicle fuel system.
